The Check Box System consists of a 6 category breakdown for each company. Each of these categories can contain one of the check boxes listed below or will be left blank if no information pertaining to the category was submitted.
This check box stands for "allowed" or "yes".
This check box stands for "not allowed" or "no".

The Check Box System consists of a 6 category breakdown for each company. These categories are explained below:
Face This category covers facial piercings, but might also pertain to other non-ear piercings such as nape piercings. A green check box means facial piercings are allowed, the red check box means they are not allowed.
Ear This category covers all ear piercings. A green check box means ear piercings are allowed, the red check box means they are not allowed.
Tat This category covers visible tattoos. A green check box means visible non-offensive tattoos are allowed, the red check box means they are not allowed.
Hair This category covers unnatural hair colors. A green check box means unnatural hair colors are allowed, the red check box means they are not allowed.
Mgr This category specifies whether the policy will vary based on location and supervisor discretion. In this case, a green check box means the policy will vary. A red check box will never be used in this category.
EH This category specifies whether the employee handbook was referenced by the person submitting the listing. In this case, a green check box means the handbook was referenced for all or part of the submission. A red check box will never be used in this category.

The Check Box System uses the 6 categories listed above, but also includes a Details column which might include more specific details of a company's policy.

Call Centers 26 This category contains call centers. Some businesses in this category might also have other divisions, but the policies listed are only meant to pertain to the call center.
Entertainment &
Broadcast Media 		16 This category contains cable companies, movie theaters and rental stores, and ticket selling companies. Television or print media companies may also be included in this category.
Financial 9 This category contains banks, investment companies, and insurance companies.
Food Service 91 This category contains primarily restaurants, bars, coffee shops, bakeries, and any miscellaneous companies who could be considered a part of the food service industry.
Grocery Stores 26 This category contains grocery stores, convenience stores and small markets like Walgreens.
Health 11 This category contains medical and health related companies.
Information
Technology 		18 This category contains companies involved in the information technology field, primarily computer and software companies. This category might also include phone companies.
Miscellaneous 16 This category contains companies that do not fit into any current category. If enough companies are submitted from the same field, a new category will be created.
Office/Clerical 3 This category contains companies specializing in office or clerical work.
Professional 15 This category contains companies in the professional field. Companies in this category may include analysis/research, contractors involved in data gathering and maintenance, government, museums, libraries and corporate businesses.
Retail 146 This category contains companies in all forms of retail, including electronics, clothing, music, accessories, etc.
Technical Trades 13 This category contains construction, chemical, manufacturing and any other technical trade company.
Vehicle Sales/Rentals 2 This category contains companies who are involved in the sale or rental of vehicles. Transportation companies might also be included in this category.

I received the following e-mail and would like to comment on it:

this is stupid, its very inaccurat, most people are varied on the opinion of "mods". i work for two offices of the same company, one, my home office doesnt care about "mods" the other office is very strict against "mods". so getting yourself worked up because on branch of a company wont hire because of your "mods" is crap just grow up and try again

As my disclaimer already states: listings are not guaranteed to be accurate and may vary by location within the business. I also want to point out that this database is not here for the purpose of "getting worked up"...it is here, again as my disclaimer already states, to provide a starting point for someone with visible mods to find a job. Knowing of companies that are more open to bodyart might make the process of finding a job easier. It is a shame in general that companies discriminate based on bodyart, but I think most people realize this problem and don't need to "grow up" in the way that this message suggests. I think this database is a way to "grow up" in that it allows the modified community a starting point to search for employment with a list of possibly more open-minded companies who will allow them to be the responsible adults that they are.
