| Jewelry bought: 0g Bullet plugs | |
|
This was my very first time ordering jewelry online and I chose Gen-X because they were inexpensive and had the "bullet" plugs that I really enjoy wearing. They were only $1.50 and shipping was cheap too, so I couldn't resist. It was quite easy to order from them, standard form and everything. Confirmation was sent nearly instantly to my e-mail and credit card was billed quickly also. My only problem I came across was that it took a while for it to get to me. I ordered it on a Saturday, so obviously I didn't think it would ship until the following Monday. Everyday I checked my mail to see if they had arrived and a full 10 business days passed without my jewelry. The shipping policy stated 5-10 days, so I decided to e-mail them after reading on this site that many people had that problem. I found it quite easy to deal with them and they promptly replied back and within 4 more days of the first e-mail I had my jewelry. They said that they had to order more or something along those lines. My jewelry, I felt, was pretty excellent. The plugs (in 0g.) were a really nice weight and actually better than the ones I had bought from someone else. These had no seams or no visible core-piece. + Good prices + Decent Quality + Helpful Customer Service - Slow shipping - Billed credit card before shipped - No warning when it comes to back-ordering Overall, I felt it was a positive experience.

Well, I went searching the net one night for a "cheaper" body jewelry seller than going to the mall and paying outrageous prices. I happened along Gen-X Jewelry. What caught my eye was the phrase "body jewelry from $.50, no minimum to buy". Any other place I clicked on that said that, well, there was a catch to it. I decided to go ahead and give it a try. Well it was true. I could order whatever I wanted be it a $.50 captive bead ring or what not. There was a $2.50 s/h charge but you still cannot beat that price!!!! I was looking for labret jewelry cuz I wanted to get a dbl labret, saw that Gen-X sells piercing supplies too!! WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!! So I ordered a 14g labret stud and a 12g needle. I paid about $7 including shipping and handling. The order arrived within 5-10 business days as says on the website. Well I was so impressed with the quality and promptness of all this, I tried the site again. I ordered some cbr's, another needle, and another labret stud. Got the order in the time that it says on the site (5-10 biz days) and was once again impressed with the quality and everything. I was soo impressed that I called and talked to Dave and told him that I have decided I want to start selling his Jewelry. So I now have my own business selling Gen-X jewelry. I to this day have 8g cbr's in both ears (from Gen-X), two 14g dbl labret (one from Gen-X, other was an x-mas present), 12g nipple cbr (from Gen-X) and an 8g tongue stud (from Gen-X). I wear what I sell and that is the best and cheapest you can find on the net. If you haven't been, go!! Prices are cheaper than anywhere, quality is as good as anywhere else (yes even high priced Hot Topic). I personally will go NOWHERE ELSE for my Jewelry other than Gen-X Jewelry. Rock on Dave!!!!!!!!!

I placed an order early November. A pair of 6G CBR's and another pair of 4G CBR's. I got an email from them that they had received my order. It said it could take 2 weeks - a month for me to get them after it was shipped. I waited 2 weeks believing my order had been shipped right away. No nothing. I waited the whole month and I got nothing, so I decided to email them to ask what was up. They emailed me back 2 days later saying that my order had been already shipped and I should receive it soon. I emailed them back and ask WHEN it was shipped so that I'd know when it'd get here. They said they had no idea. I was like "WHAT??" They said they had to make 4G CBR's so there was a delay. I didn't care the delay, I just wanted to know when it was shipped and when I'd get it. They would never tell me, keep telling me "I don't know. International orders details aren't saved on my shipping program. And I'm not a charge of shipping." and "You're going to receive it soon." It was the beginning of December. I thought I'd wait until in the middle of Dec. I heard/got nothing. I emailed them again what kind of shipping method they used. They got back to me with "Global priority mail". GPM can't take that long! Even airmails arrive in a week. I almost gave up getting my order. Late December, I finally received it. It took 2 whole months and no emails from them until I contacted them. All I got was 6G steel CBR's and 4G steel CBR's, which I can't open even with the opening plyer. I don't think I'd order from them again...

My experience with this vendor was quite positive, overall. I got the 4g for $14, which saved me quite a bit b/c otherwise I would've had to buy an Invisiball bar from tonguestud.com for about $45. The quality of the jewelry was very good, in my opinion. Shipping was delayed a bit in both cases, since Dave had to make both items. With regard to customer support, I found this vendor to be of very acceptable speed and very helpful. Dave was very quick to help me find a solution to the 6 gauge barrier I'd run into while trying to hide my tongue piercing. I will say this, if you want an immediate response, find the phone number on the website (it's not hard), pick up the phone and CALL. Being an IT/MIS/IS professional myself, I understand that sometimes e-mails are delayed, and sometimes not received/read for a while. For those reviewers who complained of slow response to their e-mail, I say this: Imagine how long it would've taken by snail mail. Two thumbs up for this.

| Jewelry bought: two 12G Barbells | |

I was initially impressed with the low cost of jewelry on the Gen-X website. I ordered two 12 gauge straight barbells, and paid $4.50 extra for priority shipping. Priority shipping is supposed to take from 2-3 days as opposed to normal shipping ($1.50), which takes up to 10 days. My jewelry did not come in 3 days and after a week I decided to e-mail the company hoping to get a response. I asked that my money for priority shipping be refunded, as I had not received the product yet. There was no response from the staff at Gen-X, so about a week later I e-mail them again. Once again I asked that my shipping charge be refunded if the jewelry had in fact been sent, and if it hadn't yet been shipped I would like a full refund. At this point it had been about two weeks since I first placed the order, longer then it would have taken even for normal shipping. The next day I got a reply from Dave (?) the guy who runs the whole deal telling me that he had been late sending out my order because of a family problem, and that I should be receiving the Barbells in the next couple of days. He did refund my shipping charge however. When the jewelry finally came it was the correct size, etc, etc. However, when I tried to put the jewelry in I cut the inside of my nipple piercing because the threads were so poorly polished, so it's useless to me. Overall my experience was poor with Gen-X.

Almost a month ago I ordered a large amount of things from this website. A few days ago, still having not gotten what I ordered, I e-mailed the owner of Gen-X, asking him what was going on. He explained that my order had been delayed because some of the things I ordered had to be made, and apologized for the inconvinience. He also sent my order to me priority mail (when I originally was going to get it First Class) and, on top of that, he sent it for free. Today, I got the things that I ordered. Everything that I ordered was there, in exactly the sizes and colors that I wanted. They were also excellent quality, some of the best CBRs and barbells I've ever had. To make things even better, the things from Gen-X are very cheap. Cheap and good quality, what more could you want? If you are looking for high quality, cheap jewelry (and a huge selection of it), I would highly recommend Gen-X. Their customer service is great, and the price is right. Gen-X will definitely be getting my business again.

Back in January I decided to stretch up my center tongue, found somewhere to pick up a 12/10g barbells, then got a mass produced type 8ga from the mall for an extortionate $30 bucks! But I wanted more... but not for $30 bucks a piece!! So I hopped online n checked out countless suppliers, and came accross GenX - for that price I couldn't go wrong, I ordered a 6 and a 4, they arrived pretty quick... a few months later I'd gotten my snakebites pierced in England on vacation and was stuck with 3/4" barbells, and I couldn't find anyone who had shorter ones with 3/16" balls. I remembered GenX n emailed the guy about it, he said he could make em for me no problem, yet again they arrived quickly, although 1 barbell was slightly threaded and wouldn't lock properly, I let the guy know - had a free replacement a few days later, PERFECT! So then one day I find out my center tongue's stretched by itself so much that the 4ga falls right through... so quickly ordered a 2ga, got it pretty quick too... locks nice n tight so it doesn't come loose at night... a few days ago I ordered a labret stud with a 3/16" black acrylic bead so I can hide the piercing in my beard when I gotta... arrived yesterday, again, perfect quality! And the ball even works on my old stud :) So overall, apart from a small quirk with the threaded barbell, I recommend this site to everyone I know :)

Oooh, I could get my little brother his ears pierced, straight up for a mere...$9? SCORE! So it began. Ordered it on a Monday. Went for the 2-3 day shipping, hoping to have it by his birthday (technically that Thursday, but we wouldn't be home to get the package till Sunday). So I get an automated message a bit later telling me what I ordered. Sunday we come home. Nothing from them. Oh well...I guess. Monday...nothing. Tuesday...nothing still. Wednesday...ahh..there it is! All packed in a padded envelope, it seemed small, though I am used to yoyo packages (usually bigger, mostly because of a yo-yo's width...) Everything was there. The two SSS cbrs looked a bit different...maybe it was the size, but one was pointed at the ends and the other was smooth. No biggie. Now the labret had a very...flat back. The one I have now is flat, but the inner piece is curved for comfort. When I put in the new labret (externally threaded, I assume because of the acrylic?), the backing was horrendously rough feeling, and the ball just seemed to big. So I took it out, and have no plans of wearing it again. Not their fault though, but a thought nonetheless. One thing I didn't mention was that when I didn't get anything on Tuesday, I emailed them asking what was going on, without reply (even to this day). Oh well...again? Overall, I wasn't overly satisfied, nor overly dissapointed. I won't order from them again, because they really didn't give me a reason to. Their prices are cheap though, but I can tell why... And finally, don't rely on them for a quick order/quick arrival, nor customer service.

After searching through a bunch of sites I came upon Gen-X and I was immediately attracted by the price. I placed my order for several things only to find that the glow acrylic stuff I wanted was out of stock. I waited forever (over a month) and when I got my stuff I received UV balls not glow in the dark balls. This led to more waiting. The quality was decent but not at all great. Their selection is very limited and I don't like to wait as long as I had to. The service was friendly but slow and the quality was below what I would like (but I guess you get what you pay for).

David (the guy that operates Gen-X Jewelry) is the kind of guy that will bend over backwards to make you a happy customer. I've ordered over 10 barbells, needles, and a taper. I keep going back to him because of his prices and quality. I used to pay almost three times as much for the above items before I found David's Gen-X Jewelry web site. It's great no longer having to spend a fortune every time I decide to stretch a piercing (or get a new one). Oh, and did I mention that his personalized customer service rocks?

Awesome. Gen-X has been helping me stretch my ears from 10g down to 0. They deliver ontime, and have by far the lowest prices I have seen. Their selection is kind of weak, but the prices are perfect for stretching.

I got a regular stainless steel barbell from Hot Topic back when I first got my toungue pierced which costed me around 26 dollars. Once I felt confident enough to change the barbell I went searching for some cheap jewelry and GOD did I find the quary. I'm telling you the quality on the barbell is awesome, comfortable fit, hot look, and the ball on the barbell doesn't just snap on like other acrylic barbells I've seen. Furthermore I really like the CBRs, people always ask me where I get them, and for such a good price. I haven't had a single problem with any of them yet and dont expect them to. The customer service is very responsive. The order made it in time and the shipping and handling is nice and inexpensive. I just ordered more last Thursday and anticipate ordering more this Thursday. Gen-x Jewelry can expect my business for some time.

Well, this is one of the many places on the net that advertises incredibly cheap jewelry but somehow falls short of my concept of "quality". The actual jewelry itself has a decent polish but the bead placement of the CBRS shows that the artist still has some improving to do. To explain it in simple terms, the bead fits into the ring near the top or bottom of the bead, instead of in the center. I imagine this could cause some "pinching". The rings also have flat ends instead of rounded ends, which is a trademark of "budget" SSS CBRS. The barbells are decent quality but only one bead unscrews, yet another minus? The service itself was decent and the person who runs the site is more than willing to work with the buyer on any problems. The basic idea still remains though, you do get what you pay for.
