BME/News

http://www.bmezine.com/news/bmenews.html

For me, this has been the year of BME/News turning into a legitimate publication in and of itself. I'm very excited with where it's gone -- not only are Jim Ward, Fakir Musafar, Erik Sprague (the Lizardman), and other "celebrities" writing columns, but we also have cutting edge work from the transgender community, the eunuch community, and great guest columns. We've traveled internationally to get interviews no one else is doing, and our work has been recognized and reprinted by numerous groups and publications. I say "our" because unlike most of BME, this section is very much defined by a broad cross-section of authors, as well as helpers who do things like maintain an active newsfeed -- the only place in the world that I know of where people can get up to the minute news on the subject. I'll also mention that BME/News is the only body modification site to be accepted by Google News, which goes a long way in subliminally integrating our voice into the mainstream consciousness.

FiveTwo Tattoo

http://fivetwotattoo.com/

This is a new shop that opened this past summer in the town I grew up in. This is honestly one of the most beautiful shops I've been in. The staff are all friendly, and the artists are truely that, artists! Craig, Jimmi, Joel, and Julian (my apologies if I've left anyone out) are very talented artists offering primairly custom pieces to their clientele.

Precision Body Arts

Ryan, Kevin and Nick. Again all very talented artists. The shop is in Nashuah, New Hampshire. Precision Body Arts offers a wide veriety of choices in work to have done. From piercings, to tattoos to scarification to pocketing and so on. These guys are great.

King Of Fools

This is a shop out of Toronto, Ontario I am naming specifically for the work of Shane Faulkner an amazingly talented tattoo artist. Shane Faulkners online portfolio speaks for itsself. He is a very talented and definately worth checking out if your in the GTA or North America for that matter.

Planet Ink

There was one more site that I wanted to nominate, but its recently not been available. In hopes it will be up again soon...

The artists at Planet ink are truly amoung the best locally and are brilliant artists. The shop has a huge selection of flash and all the artists offer either fully private booths or separated but open booths. All the artists are experienced, friendly and amazing people in general. If you're in the area and looking for a good piece of work and a reasonable price and a tattoo artist that will make your experience a memorable one.

Modified Mind

http://www.modifiedmind.com

I think many of us saw it coming, but this site has really grown into an invaluable resource. With features like the Employment Line, Jewelry Reviews, and candid interviews, it offers things that few other (or no other) sites are offering. If there's one site that I have added to my top favorites this year, this is it. Modified Mind offers resources that other sites don't have, and may never offer!
